Video camera laggy

I finally got around to trying the video camera. I have it set to 720p not 1080p. The video produced was jerky and laggy...more like a series of still images with stuttering audio than like video. Has anyone else experienced this? Do I have something set up wrong? I can't believe it's that bad. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.

my take is that it's the autofocus kicking in every couple of seconds. Very annoying

My video and photos come out like garbage.. Have tried tinkering with all settings unfortunately no luck. Camera really seems beyond subpar for 8mp

I think it has something to do with the garbage software that Motorola has. Anyone seen any good 3rd party video recording apps on the marketplace? Ones that you can choose to do manual or auto focus? If you could choose manual focus, I think videos would come out better and wouldn't be focusing all the time (same with pictures, if it didn't take so long autofocusing maybe we could get some better photos?). Just a thought.
