video camera sound issue

My Moto X is no longer recording sound in videos. All I get is a static like sound. The sound issue is not present in any other app. Sound recorded work fine. Phone calls & video calls work fine. Just on videos recorded by my phone. Downloaded other camera apps and problem is still there. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the mic used for video recording is damaged while the noise canceling mic and the voice call mic are fine.
