Video camera

Almost every time I try taking a video it force closes when I try to zoom (with two fingers). Is this a know issue or do I need to try a factory reset?

Take a look at this, as I was getting the same. Ironically, even after I had the v10i update, it was still doing it ... until I showed a colleague of mine today the issue, to find that for some reason .. the zoom has started working again .. yay

Well, after my reply yesterday, i had rebooted my phone last night, then went to show my partner that the video was working again, and I now have the same problem again with the video crashing when zooming .... rather bizarre that it was working yesterday

Does anybody have any ideas on this?

Mine will work every once in a while but you can't count on it. I was recording my daughter at the game a couple of days ago and tried to zoom in. Ended up losing the whole video. I forgot that the zoom wasn't working properly. Kinda sucks. I guess I will just use Google camera for the time being.

Really dunno what is wrong with it then. If it was hardware, you would expect other apps like google camera to have the same issue. My GF also has the G3, which the same build on it, but doesn't have a problem

Wish could resolve this, as I like the stock camera/video app

OK, so ... tried the zoom again this morning, and it is working again .... this is really annoying

I have know idea why it worked but it has so far. I haven't been able to get the video to zoom for about 2 weeks so I decided to start my phone in "Safe Mode". Video started working like it should. It zoomed in out out as many times and as fast as I wanted without force closing the camera. I then exited out of "Safe Mode" and the camera still works great. It has been about 3 days and haven't had a force close yet. Give it a try and let me know if it works.

Edit: never mind. Started doing it again
