Video Chat Audio Issue

I just got my 2 nexus 6P phones the other day and my fiance and I finally got around to setting them up. The only issue is that we spend time apart and have found that every video chat app seems to force the audio out of the headpiece speakers instead of the actual phone speakers. And then the apps themselves don't have a deep enough settings menu to choose where the audio output is going to. So is this a Nexus 6P issue, is this an android issue, is this a hardware issue (I'm guessing not since spotify and youtube play out of the right output correctly)? Are we the only ones experiencing this issue? Please let me know if anyone else is having this issue, or if anyone has found a fix for this. She isn't happy...and I am the one who switched her from her Apple iPhone. HELP!

Welcome to Android Central!

It is probably an Android thing. Are using headphones not an option?

My video chat experiences with both Skype and Facebook Messenger on the 6P have been great, with loud sounds coming out of the main speakers.

Try rebooting your phone I guess.
