When using video chat on my phone, I am not able to hear the other person (who is using a PC)...I can see them just fine, and they can hear me...but I can't hear them through my phone. Has anyone came across this issue or have any ideas?

Yup. Brother was having the same problem when we tested it out. He had like two or three mic options and only one worked for this.

Which app are you using? My experiences:

1. Tango

Horrible, unusable. Couldn't hear the other person, video was in/out.

2. Skype

They could see me, I couldn't see them.

3. Qik (normal)

Was OK, could hear/see them but if I wasn't on wifi, it wasn't great.

4. Qik (Sprint)

Oddly, this was even better. Still not great (there is no great mobile video chat app), but not bad.

5. Fring

The best I used on wifi/4g, however when a friend tried it on 4g on their side too, it eventually cut out.

So, I'd recommend trying other apps and see if the problem persists.

I was using Gtalk...and yes, I had the volume up. :p

Google Talk works great here once we got the PC mic issue straightened out and I wouldn't even hold that against GTalk.

I'd love to try google talk but everyone I know with Android has 2.3.3 or less (so no video chat) and they all seem to have busted web cams on their computers.
