Not sure if anyone else has done this but if you wanted to use your DROID to record video while you drive a simple modification will allow your Motorola car mount to hold the phone while you drive and record.

To do the modification just drill a hole through the back the cradle where the camera is and you now have a mounted windshield cam. You might have to play with the angle of of the mount a bit to keep it out of the way.

It's not 1080p or anything but the quality isn't bad.

I used my old universal carmount to do video's while driving, I thought it was pretty cool, not much use unless you caught an accident like someone backing into you and claiming you rear ended them, then BAM! video evidence..

I thought it was more useful to use apps like "Layar" so you can see locations in relation to where your car is facing

My car-mount has a port for the camera to peep through.

Thought that was everyone?

Guess I was wrong

I'll have to check out Layar...hadn't heard of that one before. I have only taken one video using this method just to play around and not 1min after starting it I happened onto a major accident.

I don't really have a good reason to do this but every once in a while I think I wish I could have had that on video. The built in recorder is a bit slow to start for the "need it now" video though.

There's and app called Time-Lapse ($1.00) and an app Called LapseDroid (FREE)

From what I've read on the market it looks like time-lapse is the real deal and lapsedroid is pretty weak sauce..I tried downloading time-lapse lite, but wouldn't download..purchasing full right now

Time-Lapse works great. Now I just need to modifiy my dock and I can make time lapse videos of me going places.

I just got done modifying my cardock. I'm ready for my road trip tomorrow and am planning on recording it in timelapse.
