Video of Galaxy S2 vs Sensation (since Sensation has same cpu/gpu as Evo 3d)

Both are fast devices, and i'm surprised the Sensation scores higher then the EVO 3D being they have the same CPU/GPU, which was just posted in another EVO 3D thread with a picture of it. But the processor in the GS2 is brilliant.

Holy Suckage! I did read a part of that thread, just didn't make it down that far. I sure hope that was still an early build and that the scores will be better in the units we get!

People are going to rip the phone apart over those scores!

This has to be a final build if Slag has it right now, and just took those benches. I mean rumors are saying early June for release. Still some overclocking will fix that right up ;)

I did notice in that video I posted the link to that they must have been running a different version of Quadrant, there were no textures or greatly reduced textures in the graphics test...did you notice that?

Well from my understanding on some devices Quadrant does not support the architecture of the newer CPU's and GPU's. It did the same thing on the Nexus S when it first released because of GB and it did not fully support it yet. Just doesn't have support for the newer devices yet.

Slag doesn't have the phone...he was just at this even and played with the demo unit. He also said that it crashed, just like the ones from CTIA which makes me believe it is still running that same build.

Just seems like it's getting late it my mind, if a release is around the corner. Still wouldn't surprise if they release it anyways and work on a fix. Just because the EVO had many issues, including random reboots in the beginning and the issues were fixed. The T-Bolt is also currently having those same crashing/rebooting issues.

Aaah...the joy of new phones.....everyone wants it RIGHT NOW...then ***** if it feels rushed and unstable.

Welcome to the market of mobile devices these days. It seems like most things get half-baked and they will release them, then after that work on fixes. Just doesn't seem right... However I understand the way it works, and they must get these things out to keep the market competitive and moving.

Its not that late. The Bolt's firmware was percolating right up until release.

The MSM8660 killed the Tegra 2.

AnandTech - Dual Core Snapdragon GPU Performance Explored - 1.5 GHz MSM8660 and Adreno 220 Benchmarks

Which in turn offers similar performance to the Exynos.

Then in other benchmarks...the SG2 BARELY beats the EVO 3D/Sensation cpu.

Seems like the MDP unit of the MSM8660 offers WAY different performance then what is in the phones. Anandtech DID say it was optimized especially for this though.

I'm interested to see the benchmarks after a while of optimizations.

That test unit they had also ran at 1.5 ghz.

Yeah Manny is right.. Personally all these benchmarks are worthless right now for dual-core. Android itself is not fully supporting them, nor optimizing itself for them. Google said once ICS hits then we will see what dual-core can do. That won't be out until Dec.

This doesn't have the new Snaps, but this shows Tegra 2 and the Exynos in the GS2 and a few others.
