New to galaxy from apple and I'm a little disappointed. I recorded my baby walking and when I texted the video to family wow did it look bad. Blurry and everything.

Why?

On the iPhone if you sent a message to your family and they have iPhones it's using imessage so can send bigger files without it being compressed. On Android it's using just standard SMS and MMS. Only way you can send bigger files is with RCS but that's dependant on carrier and if the receipts device also supports it. Sorry that it's a little confusing.

In short - It's being compressed because you're texting it to them vs. using iMessage which doesn't compress. If you send using another messaging app like Google Hangouts, WhatsApp, etc it will not be compressed.

Why?

That's the drawbacks from regular sms to iMessage. Video and pictures get compressed to crap quality. You'll need to share from another internet based service like FB Messenger, WhatsApp, Google Photos, etc.
