video sent to Note 4 via MMS/email from iPhone 6 issues - video very pixilated

My wife has an iPhone 6. Obviously, I have a N4. Now that that's cleared up, here's my delima. Whenever she sends me a 1080p video of our son or whatever else that she shot on her iPhone through MMS or even via email, it always comes out so pixelated that you can hardly even make it out. It is the same when she sends the same video to my Lumia 1520. When watching it on her phone or on my Chromebook or her MacBook Air, it is beautiful. Does it have something to do with video encoding and such on Apple's side? Is it because Apple uses their .mov garbage?

This has also happened in the past when she has sent me video, again via MMS and email, from her old iPhone 5 to my Lumia 1520 and Lumia 920.

I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It has to do with AT&T limits MMS attachments to 1MB (most carriers do - since the iPhone can use iMessage, iPhone to iPhone doesn't face that problem), so the file gets compressed beyond recognition. If it's 25MB or smaller she can email it to you. If it's larger than 25MB she can post it to a site like MEGA and text you the link to it.

Oh yeah, the iMessage junk. Well, that sounds about right since, when I had an iPhone 5 briefly, it was no issue. Thanks. Didn't know about the AT&T MMS limitation though.

You're problem should be solved if both of you install Whatsapp and use it to send videos.
