Samsung is promoting the built-in slow motion and fast motion video shooting functions of the S4. So I watch a YT video on how to activate it. But on my S4 (Verizon) the video settings menu does not have the slow motion or fast motion options even displayed! "Normal" and "Limit For MMS" are the only options. I have Android 4.2.2 and current software update I545VRUAME7. The Verizon supplied manual makes no mention of these functions. I find it hard to believe that such a simple and fun function would have been omitted from the Verizon phone. But its very strange that the video playback options aren't even in the menu. It appears whenever a function is disabled/unavailable on any of the S4 menus the option is just darkened. Thanks for reading this.

I'm on Verizon and I have those modes in my video settings. I'm also on the same base band and Android version as you. There's something else going on.

Edited to add:

to clarify, I have those options in "recording mode"...is that what you mean? Because I can't find "playback" settings...

I did mean recording mode. I solved this wierd issue. With the camera on I pressed the settings icon (gear with arrowhead), on the next set of icons I pressed the general settings icon (wheel gear), in the pop up menu I took a chance and pressed the reset button. Voila, the slo mo and fast mo options magically appeared!
