Video Stabilization On vs Off

Hey everyone. There is something very odd I noticed about my GS7. When I record a video with the Video Stabilization setting on, the quality is much worse. When playing the video back, the first few settings warp and distort.

However, when I turn the setting off, the video is much more stable and clear. From what I've read about the GS6, this setting enables digital image stabilization, which doesn't work well with the optical. I know that the optical is mechanical and can't be enabled or disabled.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is your quality with the setting off better?

I'm having the same issue with my s7 edge
With it on it behaves strange... Shakes/stuttered kind of wobbles about.
With it off it seems to behave normal and work well.

I'm assuming it should be on and this is a problem with the phone? Should I take it back to my carrier/store?

No. I did research on it, and it is a recurring problem with Samsung. That option is for digital stabilization, as the optical stabilization is a hardware feature that's always on. Apparently, the digital and optical image stabilizations don't play well together.

Re: Video Stabilization On vs OffYes

Yes, same realization! That's why I google and ended up here as well. Thought it may be a bug or something. Did my own "test", tapping on my hand, then I realised that there's more "shaking" registered with the video stabilization set to on. WEIRD!
