I hope this is the right forum.

When I use Google Lens to scan a QR code, it shows me the first few characters of the URL. How can I see the full URL before tapping it?

Thanks,
Shane.

One option is to use the dedicated QR scanner, which you should be able to find in the Quick Settings tiles. That will show more characters for the URL (like maybe 10-15), but if it's a really long URL, you still can't see the whole thing.

When I tap the URL, it opens within the Google Lens app. It doesn't launch another browser (like Chrome).

It sounds like I need another QR code scanner. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Which phone do you have? I don't think you need to install the standalone Google Lens app -- the QR scanner is probably built into the system. Did you see if there's a QR Scanner Quick Settings tile that you can add? When I use that, it opens in Chrome. (I tested this on my HMD Vibe, and it's available there, so it's not just Pixel phones.)

I have a Moto G Play 2024.

When I start Lens from Quick Settings, it doesn't open the link in the app. Instead, it asks if I want to open it in Chrome. I can see a few more characters of the URL, but not all.

Is there a QR code scanner that would show me the full URL before I tapped it?

I second this. Not being able to see the link that the QR code is taking you to first is asking for trouble.

If you want to go a step further you can download URLCheck from Google Play or GitHub. You can unshorten links and copy them to clipboard too. Useful for if a link is further hidden by a link shorter, it will decode it without going to the site.
