Virgin Mobile Optimus Lock Screen Issue

I remember when having my Moto Droid 2, the lock screen started out as, turn on screen ---> slide to the right to bring up the pattern lock ---> input pattern---Unlock!

But on the virgin mobile optimus its:
turn on screen ---> input pattern ---> Unlock!

Is there a way to bring back that slide to the right on the optimus while have the lock pattern enabled? I like having the ability to turn silent on and off and that extra slide to unlock feature.
