Quick question... Can a phone get a computer virus? My email had a spam virus thing. (sending people spam via my email) the thing is I opened emails using my phone. I already changed my yahoo pw on the computer, Yahoo actually alerted me someone from Spain using my account so I changed it. Could my phone have a virus now? If so, how do I get rid of it?

As with any other network connected device, smart phones can be infected with viruses, worms, or Trojans. If you are concerned that your phone may be infected, I recommend installing Lookout Security & Antivirus from the Play Store (Android Market) at https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...re/apps/details?id=com.lookout&token=ZClbs2lu

I also recommend disabling installation of non-Market apps (uncheck Menu => Settings => Applications => Unknown sources) to avoid unwittingly installing applications from other sources.

In your situation, you are probably ok. When people's Yahoo accounts get hacked, they are usually not using your computer to send the emails, they are utilizing a Yahoo Messenger hack where they can do it from anywhere. Even the 'location' of Spain is most likely just a spoofed IP address, and the IP address they used is dedicated to Spain (much like your zip code).

Your phone is most likely ok and unaffected at all. I've never been a fan of anti-virus software as they typically show down your system by using resources, but to each their own. Some people hate them and some people love them. You can always try it and see if you like it. Just use common sense to what sites you visit.

Thank you! I have had Lookout since I've had the phone, it's scan comes back "everything ok", so I guess it's all good. Thanks for your help...
