Well on
Rich Communication Suite - HTC One - Page 26 - Vodafone eForum
that is now 26 pages long now
and Four weeks into when they rolled out there update
Vodafone basically has offered Nothing !!!
and Fixed Nothing
all there doing and saying its the customers phone and trying to convince them it is and to get them to send this in for repair
NO ITS NOT THE PHONE !!!!
The problem is the firmware that was dumped on the HTC and the RCS Bloatware that came with it
RCS is always running this causes massive battery drain even after the sync is turned off
why is this well on UK models they have used the stock message app
In Europe they have used there own Message+ app, why is this relevant well the stock app uses the SMS.Services with in Android
this over a period of years has been tweaked to perfection
In Europe Both RCS and Message+ can be disabled in Applications Manager
In the UK that is a Big No No
Why is this ? well Good question as this is all being Handled by Vodafone Group and not Vodafone UK
who when it was Rolled out had no idea what was going on
Now it did work in the EU on the S3 so why have they changed how this was done we don't no
But HTC and Samsung quickly pulled the Rome from FOTA
and demanded Answers.
Now pulling the Rome was the best idea but users that had updated who thought it coughed be 4.4.4 were left with poorly phones
Samsung scrambled and came up with a roll back, but HTC were left to figured this out
All Vodafone can offer is a repair ???
But repair what ??
it should be a roll back to remove there faulty firmware that should never have been rolled out in the first place
So if you are effected by this contact HTC and get them to roll back the phone
as its much faster for one and they can see what a mess Vodafone has made on this
So what now ?
Well who knows it Boils down to manufactures to stop this from Happening in the first place
and Lets hope they come up with a solution that every one likes
