Just opened the Android Market on my Nexus S (Sim-free UK model from Carphone Warehouse - but using a VodafoneUK sim) to update maps, and noticed that in the position where "My apps" usually appears, there is now a Vodafone icon, which links to a Vodafone specific section of the market. I know some US carriers have similar, but this is the first time I've seen this on a UK carrier.

It's slightly annoying, as now I have to hit the menu key to get to my apps, which makes it an extra step... Yeah, lazy I know. :p

I don't think theres a way around that. Unless anyone else knows how?

I use orange and no problems here...

The new market still has the Vodafone section instead of my Apps though...

It must be detecting the network rather than the Vodafone sim, because I noticed it reverted to normal on a recent trip to Japan when I was mostly on the Softbank network.

Some manufacturers do it too. The SE Arc i had before the 2X had a dedicated SE section. Don't think you can get rid tbh
