When I got the S3 about 2 months ago, one feature I liked was the Voice Commands for Apps feature, which among other things would allow you to take a picture by saying "cheese" or one of several other voice commands. When did they get rid of this function, or did they just change where you enable it.

Have you updated to 4.1? If you have, Google Now should handle opening apps. Also check to see if S voice is enabled.

I did update to 4.1.1 last week. I know I can launch apps with Google Now, but there was a feature that while taking pictures you could use voice commands to actually take the picture instead of having to tap the on screen button which was nice when using two hands to steady the phone.

Edit:

I found the setting under the S-Voice options, so its still there.
