Voice input for texting

I saw this posted in the threads somewhere, and after 45 mins of looking and searching I couldn't find it... so I am posting again... I apologize if I anger any of you with a repetitive question

Well I swapped my SGIII the other day because of a problem with the screen.

My previous SGIII, when I used voice to input a text it would be automatic. IE: I would click the mic button (BTW I use Firekeys as a keyboard), and it would be a grey box only over the space of the keybaord asking me to input my text. Once I spoke in to it, it would already be in the typed out field ready to send...

When I switched the phone, I once again downloaded Firekeys did my settings the same way, and use the voice input function, but this time it was a big black box, with a red outline, and when I spoke in it it gave me 5-6 options to select to put in to the typed out field. This is super annoying... I want my old automatic input back.. does anyone know if its possible or how to get it back?

I've noticed this too. I returned my first GSIII and use Swiftkey3. On my current S3, the same thing happens. It is quite annoying as some of the choices are the same. Most of the time it guesses my input correctly anyway.
Does anyone know if there is a setting where we can turn this off?

Factory reset and stay with OEM keyboard and voice input? I tried SwiftKey 3 and the keyboard is nice but the voice input takes about 3 steps. No way Jose.
