For some reason, my Voice search/End Call button no longer works. I've tried checking the options under spare parts and have tried other roms, but it doesn't work. I've flashed the stock key layout to no avail.
It isn't a broken key, since when I press it while doing the key test function in CWMA recovery, it returns keycode 216, as it should.
I'm running CM 7.2.

I flashed to the Reborn Rom, and the voice control button worked - it pulled up the dialer. So I know that the button works, but in thekraven's cm 7, it doesn't work. (I have checked spare parts and made sure that the end call is set to Sleep.) I've tried flashing/adb pushing the key layouts individually from various roms, but no dice. I have tried reflashing cm7, but still nothing. Any thoughts, anyone?

Only sprint based roms have that function built into the framework.

It used to work until I flashed some cm10 roms.
Also, it started working again after I flashed back to stock ZVD and recovery, re-rooted, and reflashed. I'm not sure why it worked.

I think cm9/10 added code for more button functions. You can assign it to long press of the main buttons.

I mainly use this phone for music, so I've stayed away from cm 9/10 for the most part since Apollo sucks at finding/sorting my music, and other music players are too sluggish (I have around 10 gb of music on my sd card.) , so I've stayed on cm7 for now. After I flashed the fastcharging kernel, the voice control button stopped responding, so I'm pretty sure that the problem lays there. (Either there, or in the camera fix.)

I just use the stock cm7 music app on CM9 and it works great

Whenever I've tried that (from either Titanium backup or direct ripping of the cm7 music.apk), it just crashed upon trying to open it.
