Voice talk does not respect screen locking

So far, my Galaxy SII is by far the best phone I've ever used. It's responsive, intuitive, and finally keeps up with my normal usage with zero lag. Can't say the same about my previous phone - iPhone 3GS.

However, I'm hoping someone can help me with a "feature" while using the Voice Talk abilities of the device. When using my bluetooth headset, activating the voice control functionality opens up the Vlingo interface and prompts me audibly in my headset. Works great. However, if my phone is locked and I activate Voice Talk, there doesn't seem to be a way to go through the voice prompts while my phone remains locked. What's even worse is that if I am to cancel the voice input, it reverts to the home screen, leaving it susceptible to the dreaded pocket dial.

This prevents me from having a truly hands-free experience with this phone, as I need to take the phone out of my pocket to use the voice features.

Has anyone been able to figure out a way to keep the phone locked while using the voice control functions as well as after the functions have completed?

I have the exact same problem if the screen is locked not being able to use my bluetooth headset with Voice Command to make calls. Very frustrating. So I have to leave the screen lock OFF. It may be tied to the other issue with the lock screen being able to be bypassed which was discussed earlier.
