Voice text not transferring to messages

Hello

New to me Galaxy S20 using SwiftKey keyboard. Whenever I try to send a text message using the voice to text function by pressing on the lite microphone on the keyboard, I get an accurate voice to text translation. However, the text doesn't transfer to the text message I am trying to send. When I stop talking, the Google translate window simply disappears and I lose all my text.

Is there a setting or something I need to select to get the text to transfer to the actual text message?

Are you tapping the mic icon within the onscreen keyboard, or a mic icon that's in the text entry field of the texting app? I believe the latter is for recording a voice message to be sent as a sound file. Or it could also look something like this: https://thecellguide.com/send-audio-message-on-galaxy-s20-12910

Thanks Diddy and Mustang.

I'm long pressing the microphone icon to the left of the spacebar that the arrow above is pointing to.

When I long press that icon, a separate window pops up and I start talking. I see the text forming as I talk, but as soon as I'm done talking, the pop up Google window disappears and I return to the empty text box on Messages. The words I just spoke aren't in the message field like they were on my S9.

I just got this S20 after having replaced my S9. I'm wondering if there is a setting somewhere that I haven't found?

Maybe try reset the swiftkey go to your app list and find SwiftKey, then tap storage and clear data and force stop.

Could be a update that changed something or glitch

OK went to the app list and tried resetting some of the settings. Now it sort of works........differently than my S9 but at least usable. When I long press the microphone and start talking, it does voice to text. When I stop talking, the Google window disappears and the message area is blank. But if I tap the empty message area, the text appears. Weird in that my S9 just put the text directly into the message as I talked.
