Is there a pre-installed voicemail app on the Sprint U11? If not, any recommendations on one?

Mine doesn't have it. The Google Phone App handles the voice mail. You have to call your cellphone the old fashion way and set up the greeting again. Whether we will get visual voice mail or not I do not know.

I called sprint and they told me I had a defective phone. I have an appointment tomorrow to get it exchanged.

I wish more Sprint U11 owners would chime in on this. If this is a common issue, I really don't want to set up another phone.

You don't have a defective phone. The Sprint Visual VM app no longer exists. Supposedly Google Voice will work for visual VM for free, although I had trouble making it work...

Isn't the U11 using Google's dialer now? If it is then the VVM tab is on the far right of the dialer.

It is not, the U11 is still using HTC's custom (even though it doesn't appear to change anything) dialer, contacts (People), and clock at a glance.

I finally gave Google Voice another er try on my Sprint U11. Found out, once your account is activated and you have a Google phone number, dialing *73 and your google number activates no answer forwarding and *74 plus number activates busy forwarding...

I've been using GV forever and had no idea lol... But I've never had an issue with setting it up
