Voicemail Notification

I had a voicemail, I listened to it, I deleted it. However, the notification in the top left corner will not go away.
It has been there for over a week now, despite repeated on/off cycles, battery pulls, re-calling of voicemail number and changing of settings while on the call.
Ive force re-set the various 'call' aspects on the phone, all without joy.
Has anyone had a similar problem and if so what, if anything worked?

Contact your carrier. Sounds like the problem is at their end.

Right, just prior to contacting my service provider (EE UK), I received a voicemail. I listened to said voicemail and then deleted it. Hey Presto, annoying notification gone!!!
I have no idea what had happened to cause the stuck notification,but as was suggested was probably a fault at EE's end. However I now don't care as its fixed!!

NO!!!! It's my phone.... It's now doing it with SMS message notifications. Oh well, small price to pay.
