It says I have a message but when I go to the voicemail app and try to play the message I get a pop up that says unable to play message, yet when I go to my dialer and go to my voicemail through there I can play it. Any idea what is wrong?

Thanks

I THINK what he means is go menu>settings>applications>manage applications>voice mail>clear data.

I've used this method before on customer devices with mixed results

Is it happening while your phone is connected to a Bluetooth device? I cannot hear my voicemail while my phone is connect to my Ford SYNC.

This is what I meant. Sorry it wasn't clearer. Results have been mixed. The issue comes and goes now.

Have you done a regular reboot? I had some issues with my voice mail playback, not exactly that, but a reboot fixed it for me.

My sidekick 4g did the same thing. Idk why but the visual voicemails just won't play. So idk but I turn it off & turn it back on & it allows me to play it again

Bump. Help please.

First of all, removing the data didn't work? Then sadly have you tried to factory reset the phone? first back up all your contacts, and if rooted, your app's for easier installments, then factory reset it, and see if the problem continues, if it does, take it to sprint( If your in Stock-Unrooted) if you are rooted, and after the factory resetting didn't work Odin to your current android version an see if it works, if not, off to sprint with it :D

what is a regular reboot please? Is it just shutting down and restarting the phone? Is there anything more than that? Deleting the data and emptying the cache in the application did not help.

if I buy Titanium Backup can I save all my Apps and configurations before factory reset?

Success!! I purchased My Backup and don't regret it, it's a wonderful app and then I called Sprint, ready to do a factory reset however, the tech advised me to go to settings/my phone and update the PRL and the Profile and now it works like a charm. Who know? I guess Sprint IS getting better- I wasn't on hold for too long and the solution couldn't have been simpler.

I suspect the issue may be beyond just voicemail. I had the same issue with voicemail playback, but beyond that I had some custom ringtones, which stopped working (and I didn't know it), so I kept missing calls even though I turned the volume of the ringtones up. I had also noticed I couldn't record video. I would say "normal" as opposed to the short, MMS smaller file mode, and as soon as I pushed record on the video, it would say "recording failed." I found this forum post Epic 4g - Music/Videos/Ringtones and Taking Pictures/Videos Unavailable - Android Forums which indicated the Twitter mobile for Android app to be the issue. I just uninstalled that and then unmounted and remounted the SD Card (from the settings menu or you could just pull the battery and reboot your phone to do the same) and then everything is working at the moment. It looks like others have indicated no problems since, so hopefully mine is resolved too. I suspect it is.

I had this same problem. Found a posting where someone said to delete the Twitter App to fix voicemail. Sure enough, it worked! That's when I realized that I had started having problems with voicemail right around the time I installed the Twitter App.
