Voicemail problems

Hi, recently whenever I miss a call and someone leaves me a voicemail my incoming text messages suddenly become blocked. Anytime someone leaves me a voicemail I get a text notification saying new voicemail, time/date, etc. which is normal. But now I recieve this message over and over and over instead of any incoming text messages for maybe the next 12 hours or so then everything goes back to normal. This has happened 4 or 5 times now and it is driving me crazy. I have called my provider and they reset some stuff but nothing changed. Googled this problem and I cannot find anything even close. Help anyone?
