So one of the annoying things about the EVO was that there was no way to listen to voicemail through a Bluetooth headset. I had seen it documented, and it never worked for me. So when I was ready to listen to a voicemail, I would hold the EVO to my other ear to listen to it...

Well, much to my surprise, I had received a voicemail on Friday, so I did the same thing I always do, hold the phone to the ear without the headset. Well.. All of a sudden, I heard the voicemail through the headset!! I almost fainted!! (well, not really, but you get the idea...).

Anyway, I did a quick search before posting this and I didn't see annoy post about this, so I don't know if it is just me. I haven't had much time to test further these past few days.

I use a Blueant Z9i headset by the way....

Voicemail play through my Blueant Q2, not sure if it's headset specific.
Btw, I also have Vlingo Voice installed. I think that might be it.

It plays through my Ford Sync bluetooth. Drives me crazy. My phone works as a phone normally but if I check vm, I have to go to my audio with source bluetooth as if I was using it as a mp3 player. Drives me nuts.

If you have a2dp on your bluetooth, you could get voicemail through it all along. I have the Jawbone Icon and has been doing it since day 1 (Evo launch day).

Just make sure you have the phone audio and media both checked in the bluetooth settings (tap and hold on your headset name and select options).

I'm pretty sure the blueant also had a2dp all along too, so you could have had your voicemail (and gps) in your bluetooth all along...

Also check with the blueant Web site. I also have a Jawbone Icon, and it did not come with a2dp out of the box. I had to download and install an update to the Icon while it was connected via a USB to my computer.
