Volume booster/amplifier for headphones?

I like my music loud!

I've been a hard rock/metal fan for about 30 years, and, for better or for worse, I like to listen to it loud. Unfortunately, the G3 doesn't let us do that. I know you just have to keep clicking up when the warning comes up about the volume with headphones plugged in, but even when I get it turned all the way up, it's still not quite loud enough.

Is there a way to increase the volume output through the headphones without rooting the phone? I've tried a couple of the volume booster apps, and they really didn't do anything. Maybe I just tried the wrong ones. Any recommendations?

I've found that the only way to really increase the volume levels is rooting and using something like Viper4AndroidFX or editing the mixer file.

I just found out about this app today actually but have not used it but saw nothing but great reviews about it.
You have to be rooted though, here is the link.
I did download it and opened it but have not adjusted the volumes yet myself.
