Volume w headphones in now uses the phone icon instead of the music one, not as precise (Spotify)

[Android Central Question]

I noticed recently that when adjusting Spotify volume using headphones it uses the volume with the phone icon, which has larger steps than the music one. Any idea why this may be or how to fix it? Just checked and Youtube uses the music one, and Spotify does also when headphones are NOT inserted.

Still on Android 7.0 (Nougat)
