I'm asking for all of us to unite and request an EQ for media playback on the Android devices. My Moto Droid is the best phone for me, and it would be a killer if the media player was enhanced w/this 1 (slightly) advanced feature.

Long story short: I need an EQ on my Android device, how about YOU?

the media player needs an overhaul and facelift in general.

personally, i don't use mine as a media player (i like having a seperate PMP) so an EQ doesn't really matter to me (i don't even use the one in my pmp)

but any changes to the media app would be welcomed :)

I have more portable players than I've listed in my sig, and I'd love to use my Droid as my travel media playing companion. Give me an HC battery and I'm good to go. And I'd love an EQ, as it's just 1 area that needs improvement when it comes to media playback.

The question is can it be done with software, or is it done with hardware? It may need hardware, even if it is software based, as it may take computing power to eq on the fly. Just guessing though.

Since the droid can handle video, the droid can handle processing the sound for an eq. There should be an open source eq amp that a "programmer hacker" could use as the base. There was a post the other day on another news site I read, maybe slashdot.org that said they had created a java sound processor.

My Hero is my media player, and the tone is just fine for me. Mind you, I use a pair of my favorite earphones that sound just the way I want them. I know my score on the audiophile scale is not much for that, but what can I say? Either the Hero is a good media player, or I'm easy to please! :p Now the thing I would like to know is why I hear a little static under the music when I use my stereo bluetooth receiver (it's the kind of small dongle with a 3.5mm jack)...
