I hear most people are using RDP clients to broswe files on remote PCS. You can try ConnectBot to SSH.

Don't know of a way to just browse files on a remote server. The Android is basically a Linux derivative and as such might be able to use samba and the like for remote access but dunno of it being possible on non rooted device. Could always check the market place. else. the previous poster is correct. I use it to term server to the office and work that way or to ssh to systems behind firewalls.

What is the point of having VPN if it can't see the folders?

Yup, on WinMo you could map a drive to the folder, I hope someone figures this out on the Droid!!!
