VZW Galaxy S III now to ship BY 7/11

Just went to VZW's website and saw that our future baby will ship by 7/11. My guess is that this date is in place for people who are just now or have just recently pre-ordered the device.

hahahahahah. No. It's Verizon's SOP for a phone release aka - keep pushing it back and back and back. next week it'll probably be 7/14 to 7/18. Remember they almost always release on Thirded.

Use the preorder confirmation number.

Typically don't charge until phone is about to ship. Check your online and you may see a pending credit and debit (or net 0 if your bank shows 0 dollar transactions) from Verizon.

I'm becoming exhausted from trying to get information out of Verizon and Best Buy and the AC forums. I don't understand why Verizon and Samsung are making this so complicated and aren't being clear at all. It's really causing so much unrest in the community. Would it not make sense (not that Verizon makes sense very often) to just make an official statement of when the phone would be available?

They did. Check your email if you pre-ordered, call and ask. Currently the ship date is the 11th for new orders. Verizon isn't being unclear.

People want the phone, and those of us on this site have an even greater interest than most, making it mighty tempting to rationalize otherwise inconsequential findings as reasons that something we want (an early release) might happen despite how unlikely it is.

It's human nature, not malicious but also not Verizon's fault.

my thought is maybe verizon purposly holding off because the new data plan goes in effect june 28. if they wait to release these phone either for july 12 or july 19, and you get this phone and for whatever reason no happy with it once you return in the 14 day window they got you on being able to say the unlimited plan only applied because you preordered your phone before june 28th. Im just specualting

Interesting opinion. Who knows why the delay but maybe someone in the know might tell us.
