Do we think the VZW One will get root? How long do think it'll be before they root it? I haven't had a HTC phone so I'm not sure who are the developers.

I imagine it depends on how big the bounty gets. I have a feeling it will get pretty high on XDA (considering how high the SG4 got), and I'd be more than willing to chip in some $$ for whoever releases a reliable root method.

The method has already been found. I follow the devs on twitter and the unlock/s-off exploit works on the VZW One. Pretty sure you can have it unlocked on day one.

Just got a tweet looks like going to HTC dev sight we can unlock the bootloader . but the root method is broken.

Yup. I am rooted. Now to wait patiently for a Sense rom like ARHD or ViperRom

I'm in the middle of trying to unlock mine. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not expecting it to work, but hoping that it somehow does.

This stinks.. I didn't bother unlocking mine yesterday because the screen had a dead pixel. Got a new one today, and now VZW/HTC makes it impossible to unlock... just tried,got an error on HTCDev page.

A few guys on xda are trying lure some developers with cash to open the one up. Guess the way the one is even if we had root we still couldn't do any thing.
