Anyone have an idea why the VZW Pixel 6 is $100 more than the unlocked version but the Pro version is not $100 more?

Verizon Pixel 6 has the mmWave modem. Unlocked does not. All Pixel 6 Pros have the mmWave.

Everything is more expensive with Verizon. You don't get the free ear buds and have to pay $35 activation fee for the Verizon version which you don't for the Unlocked version.

I ordered an unlocked pro and I have Verizon. I assume it will work fine on 4g? No 5g in my area anyway.

I use nothing but unlocked phones on Verizon.. 5G in areas where they have it no issues.. That extra $135 plus no buds makes it easy choice...

The unlocked 6 has sub6 capability only. The att and Verizon versions support mmWave, but cost more..the att phone is 740. All 6pros, locked and unlocked support mmWave.

It looks like it's the non-US model that does not support mmWave.

To be fair the google store is giving $100 store credit for people buying the VZW P6. You could use that to get the buds at no extra cost.

I did not see any store credit on my Verizon P6P order, that must only apply to the P6.
Once Buzzy posted the information above showing that there is only one P6P model, I canceled my VZW P6P order and placed a new order for the Unlocked P6 with the buds.
Google needs to do a better job of explaining what each model you are ordering supports. They created a lot of confusion.

Gonna watch this closely once people get their phones bc if I don't need VZW's version to get 5G, I'll just go directly through Google.

How did you confirm this? Checked the spec sheet and it did not seem to differentiate. I purchased the Unlocked Pixel 6 from Google store and also use VZW. Living in NYC area, have access to mmwave 5G. Does it have the regular 5G?

How do you know which phone is sold where?

I purchased the unlocked Pixel 6 256GB. I live in NYC area and have access to 5G. My current Unlocked Pixel 5 has access to both 5G networks, however, have no idea when I am actually getting the mmwave or regular 5G.
Does it make much of a difference?

With my 5 trade in, free buds, and 10% off for GoogleOne, <$300 for Pixel 6 256GB unlocked

The pro does but the 6 doesn't. Look at the chart a few posts above

Only the P6 bought from Verizon will have 5G wide band support. The p6 from Google only has the lower band 5G. The p6 pro has wide band support built in, so no need to go through Verizon.

AT&T Pixel 6 also has mmWave. Verizon and ATT offer the G9 variant which has mmWave. The unlocked P6 is the GB7 variant which is sub6. ATT Pixel 6 costs $740.

Google's website lists a version of the 6 pro that doesn't have mmWave. So I don't think all Pro models have mmwave.
