So we have until the 15th of January to return our Nexus phones. Nice of Verizon to let us see what's coming out of CES before absolutely committing to the 2 year contract.

There will always be a better phone... But there are only a few actively developed phones...

Yeah Im gonna have to take it right to the edge. Went to EPCOT yesterday. Even on 3G I could not make it all day and I had reception problems galore. Keep in mind that Disney normally has awesome coverage. On top of that the phone reset its self 3 times yesterday. Now I did put the phone through its paces taking photos and updating Facebook. However my wife with her Rezound was doing the same amount of work and it sipped it's battery so that by the time we left she had plenty of juice to spare. Plus she never had a reception issue. I love ICS and have been OK with the Nexus, but it seems more and more to me that this phone is great if you are always near a power source. That works for a lot of folks. But I am on the go way too much and away from a power outlet most of the time. I'm not gloating. I want to stick with the GN, but if it it can't meet my needs then I'm going to be forced to switch phones :'(

What do you do keep the screen on all the time? Even on the standard battery I can get 14 hours pretty easily. With the extended yesterday I got 15 hours, but I was on it for a solid 3 hours the last part of the day before it died.

I thought about picking up the extended battery while it's still on sale, would you say it's worth it? I am skeptical since it's not that much bigger.

Im not getting the extended battery to me its not worth it just for 1 to 1 1/2 hr more time ,your opionion might vary however.;)
I get a lil more time out of my stock battery 16 to 17 hrs which is fine for me, of course that just depends how long I am on it .
I mainly use it for emails, sms, twitter, web surfing, youtube.
I usually put it on the charger when it gets down to 7% to 4 %

Oh if it weren't for me being on it more toward the end of the day I could easily get 18 to 20 hours out of the extended battery. Of course I've only put it through 2 complete cycles so far. For $25 it was worth it to me. It makes the phone more comfortable to hold because it gets rid of the lip at the bottom.

i like ext battery bc an extra hr or two allows me to not carry a spare, however im back in school these days so there are outlets everywhere if i need one towards the end of the day. I know this will vary for everyone, but i get around 13 to 15 hrs moderate use on average with ext.

As for op, not returning this phone, love it, its not perfect but its closer than anything else ive had. Will see whats out at ces just for fun. Not buying for at least a year i hope.

The 15th? I thought VZW's return policy was 14 days. I bought mine on 12/20, from a third-party
seller(like BestBuy, Amazon, Costco)

Yes, normally 14 days for return. But this maybe special promotion, Purchases made between Nov 15 and Dec 28, 2011, can be returned or exchanged through Jan 15, 2012

Does that include third party sellers? Such as LetsTalk or Wirefly?

Exactly. Guess what happens after the phones announced at CES get released? MORE phones get released, and they'll likely be even MORE advanced! OMGOMGOMG and then what will people do?

To me, it's dumb to constantly be chasing the next best thing. I couldn't care less what comes out at CES because none of them will be Nexus phones.

Well said. And as for battery. Mine sucked. Rooted. Put Bugless on it with imoseyon's kernel. Amazing so far. Very happy.
