Wake up time too short on security lock

When i enabled the security lock (via PIN or pattern) the screen wake up time lasts only like 3 seconds ! When i open the cover the screen comes on and before I can type the PIN or swipe the pattern the screen goes out again - I then have to press the ON button to light up the screen - is there a way for the screen to stay up longer before i key in the PIN?

First, when you open the cover, do you fold it in back of the tablet? If so, and if you're using a 3rd party cover, it may be that the magnet embedded in the cover (which triggers the smartcover sensor and shuts off the screen when the cover is closed) is too powerful, and still activating the sensor when folded behind the tablet.

Otherwise, do you have any power-saving modes on? I've read that some of the more aggressive power-saving modes may shorten how long the lockscreen stays on. Also check your Smart Stay settings--try turning it off, if it's on.

Not sure why your lock screen only gives you 3 seconds. I just tried mine several times and in each case it gave me a good 15-16 seconds before the screen light shutdown.
