Waking up phone with NFC

Nfc tags work well with phone unlocked / screen on but is there a way to use them with on a blank screen. Seems if you have root its possible but now that's a distant memory. Would Tasker work?

Tasker for Android is a fairly good location for anything Tasker.

I'm guessing your are talking about the screen being off when you say "on a blank screen"... is that correct? If so, I hope Tasker does NOT have anything to help. This sounds like a very large security issue as far as I'm concerned. I would not want this to work if my screen is off.

Yes that is what I meant, just want to wave phone over Nfc tag like when you have greasy hands and have the tag do its thing

I'm not aware of any way to do that. One problem would be that it would drain your battery faster that way because it would constantly be needing to poll the NFC sensor. It's the same issue you have with persistent voice recognition on phones that don't have specific hardware for it (i.e. the Moto X).
