Walked in to Best Buy..walked out with blue GSIII!!! No pre-order

I guess I just got lucky, but I am the proud owner of an at&t blue GSIII. I didn't pre-order it or anything, just walked in and got the last one they had!! Compared to the One X I had this thing is light years better. After first boot up I had almost 1Gig of free memory others maybe more I forget right now. If the quad core is faster than this I don't see how. This thing makes the One X look like a slug. All these bug review sites that are saying that the One X is very close in performance are just being politically correct because they may have an all too cozy relationship with the manufacture. I have know such relationship and can emphatically say that this phone makes the HOX that I had look like amateur hour. How is multitasking you may be asking yourself? Multitasking on this phone is better than even the most powerful of power users would ever need.....simply ridiculous. I will probably root in about a week or so, but it won't be to improve the performance of this phone as that is just not needed, maybe not even possible. I just like those custom ROM's too much.

What did you have before? And are you familiar with the display of the Atrix2. IF SO, how does the S3 compare to it. Thanks!

i just walked into an AT&T store, and they told me that it's not out yet. what a gyp lol

I had the One X before. What a tremendous disappointment. I am unfamiliar with the Atrix 2 screen. I would like to add that the white balance on this phone is surprisingly good when looking at it head on. I don't miss the One X's white balance at all. I knew this phone would be good, but I didn't know it would be this good.

Thats awesome. The Best Buy near me in Milwaukee doesnt even have display models yet, let alone any for sale

I got a White S3 today at BB for $199 without preordering too! Actually had to pre-order at the store and wait 5 min for a confirmation email. Check the BB preorder thread for details.

After being denied yesterday, and a busy day at work today I didn't even bother checking. I did however check availability through best buys website and it always said unavailable. Sort of bummed, really hope I get lucky tomorrow.

Thanks for giving me hope. I'm waiting for BB because I'm using the buyback program to pay my Sprint ETF and pay for the majority of my phone. Looks like daddies going to the mall soon... very sooon.

I have both devices and I'm going to go ahead and say I believe you're an over excited new user. The devices are indeed very close performance wise. As far as multitasking goes its user preference weather you like how HTC does it or Samsung. But as far as benchmarks go they are similar.

He is right though. Two gigs of RAM on this processor are insane. I can open an app, leave it be and go bury through twenty more apps for an hour and come back to the original one and it's just like I left it. I don't own a one X but playing with a friend of mines, I do like sense but it's a bit choppy due to it being laced so heavily into ics.

Not to say it isn't a good phone, because it is great. But Samsung did it right again this year. Not light years ahead of the competition like last year with the GS2, but still ahead imo.

I am definitely an over exited new user. I actually believe that the One X benchmarks better that the SIII, but in my experience with both, I find the SIII to be the superior devise. It is much smoother and I still have not come across any lag at All. My problem with the One X was that I found lag on the home screens, the app drawer, and especially the browser. The multitasking on my One X was absolutely disgraceful in its performance and was the main reason that I got rid of it.

I like having a task manager to close all apps so that none are running that are battery hogs.

S3 is a great device. I have one X and waiting for s3 to get here. One X is not slow, I don't believe a word when someone says that galaxy s3 is light years better, and is a lot faster. I don't use htc sense I use apex launcher. One X is a beast and it is fast, multitasking sucks but regardless this is one fast phone. Light years better sounds like over excitement to me. I am getting an s3 first because I want it, and I like the design and I like being able to replace the battery out. Extra gig of ram is nice, and I hate multitasking on One x. However I couldn't possible imagine how much faster it could, One X is almost instant when I click on something.

Stop using sense launcher and see the device fly. Sense kills apps in the background and everytime your phone is asleep it kills the app drawer too. When you first launch the app drawer it has lag but launch it again and again and there is no lag. That is why I didn't use HTC sense. No matter how much they try they need to change that damn drawer and tone it down.
