I have downloaded three wallpaper/background apps, but when selecting a background they never fit in the way the preview shows in the app. Is there a good background app for this tablet?

I have not ran into an app that fits like in the preview. I usually just google "980x540 wallpapers" or whatever your screen resolution is. Wish I could help more. It still at times does not show whole pic so you may still have to crop.

I never had an issue with my Samsung Epic Touch 4G. But with the Iconia A100 has been something else as far as this.

I use PrettyPix and PicSpeed Wallpapers, and maybe I haven't paid enough attention, but they seem to work well. If they don't fit the way you're looking for, I apologize in advance. They do look good on the tab though......

Generally speaking, if you look for wallpaper apps which are HD. In the market, they will fit tablets. The one ive used the most is Wallpapers HD and Backgrounds Box (in addition to Pic Speed)
the first one particularly has tons of great ones divided both by subjects and color spectrum choices. You should find plenty of images that will suit the A100.

I just remembered another source you may find helpful for not only wallpapers but apps designed for tablets. There is both a website and an app available in the Market.

Tablified.com

All the apps are screened by specific criteria to be certain that they are optimized for tablets specifically. Thats the total reason detre for this project and the guy who developed it screens each app recommended by these criteria so you can be certain that if its on tablified. It will DEFINITELY work on your tablet.

And obviously theres a section of the regular Marketplace for tablet apps. But the guy over at tablified is much fussier about what makes it into his site :)

Interesting.

And where might this section be? Surely you're not talking the 'featured tablet app' section, right?

Yes, surely I am referring to that section which actually has a pretty good selection. why is that so astonishing to you?

Some of them may not make the cut for the criteria of your site but any that ive found there have worked fine on my Iconia without a problem.

I gave your site a good reco so whats the prob ? Obviously I meant fussy in a positive sense.

But if someone is just looking for apps that work on tablets, IMHO the section of the market fills the bill as well. Maybe not up to snuff according to YOUR strict standards but I haven't had any problems with it.

And yes, I actually took the time to read through your list of criteria for what a "proper" tablet app should contain. But I'm a very practical person. If it works on my tablet it works. If the tablet apps in featured section of the market dont meet your standards, then don't use them. But don't feign such astonishment that others do. As I said, if it works it works. I'm not all that persnickety whether the developer dotted all the Is and crossed all the Ts. if it works, thats good enough for me.

If you do, then that's your prob. Doesn't mean its problematic for everybody else.

Besides, my opinion is precisely that. One persons opinion. I'm not saying anyone else has to share that opinion.

What's with the attitude? It was simply a question. Not sure why you felt the need to go on a total rampage. I simply asked if that is what you were referring to. I thought that maybe I missed some new section in the Market or something. I suggest you relax a bit, they are just apps.

Ya I have strict criteria, so what? I won't apologize for having a set of basic criteria for a tablet app. I am thorough, always have been and always will be. If you don't understand the need for properly designed and fully functional tablet apps then that is YOUR problem my friend, not mine.

I thank you for recommending my site and I took no offense to you calling me picky, because I am. If you're okay with using phone apps on your tablet, then by all means go ahead and do so. I have to use them too. When quantity is limited you end up settling for what's available. There's no need for snarky remarks. Again, it was simply a question.

I know this post is kinda old, but I have started using Wallbase Wallpapers. When you crop the pics, Wallbase gives you the ability to crop in both portrait and landscape, so the pics end up fitting the tablet better. I don't know if the other wallpaper apps have started doing this, but I like it.

Just wanted to share.....
