Wallpaper for G6

[Android Central Question]

Hello - I have been happily using my Moto G6 for a couple of years now. When I bought my phone I bought it as a new unlocked phone which I use on the PagePlus Cellular network. My phone came with Android 8 initially and only had one wallpaper file installed (the familiar green background you see in the user documentation). I would like to have other wallpapers available to occasionally change to. If I'm online via cellular data or wifi I can bring up a screen of different wallpapers to select from but none of these files actually end up in my local storage. I can select one as my active wallpaper but that one then replaces the original wallpaper and does not allow for the new paper to be saved. Is there a collection of available wallpaper files available or is that specific to each carrier? Please advise if you have any answers.
