Wallpaper gone after update

I'm on a Galaxy S9+ with Sprint. After the update to PIE my "custom" wallpaper is gone and by custom I mean that I'm using my own image from my "gallery" on the phone.

I went through the normal steps of setting a custom wallpaper on the "Home" and "Lock Screen" and the end result is that it only sets wallpaper on the Lock Screen and nothing else. I have tried installing a free theme and it does the same thing, changes the lock screen image only but still has a black screen on the home screen. Anyone have any ideas?

First of all your link is bad. That app doesn't exist on google play anymore which means you SHOULD NOT be recommending that to me in the first place. Second I don't want to use a third party app. I shouldn't have to load a bunch of "other peoples" software on my device just to fix things that Android and their developers screw up.

Instead of removing a bullet from my flesh you offer me a band-aid. THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION!! This needs to be working properly without other peoples apps.

So lets all try again. What can I do to fix this issue on my phone the proper way without adding an advertisement riddle garbage app on my phone.

Android and their developers screw up.

In this case - it's most likely SAMSUNG that screwed something up. Have you checked with the S9/S9+ forum section to see if others have had the same issue? Have you possibly tried wiping the cache partition?

The way I've done it is to open the gallery, click on a picture, click the 3 dots top right corner, click set as wallpaper, click lock screen, wallpaper or both.

What if you try setting it by long-pressing on a blank area of the home screen and selecting to set the wallpaper/background?
