Wallpaper HELP, Please

What I want to do is set my own wallpaper, so I found the image I want, re-sized it to 480x800 and emailed it.

THIS DROID MAKES ME CROP IT!

Its the right size and it still makes me crop it. I even re-sized the image to something ridiculously small thinking it wouldn't ask me to re-crop it and it make me do it again.

This is getting so frustrating for something that should be simple.

Someone please help me

well that sucks, where do u go to get wallpapers? There has to be a way around that.

i use zedge.
but i don't care about having to crop it

You can get wallpapers from the flikie hd app in the market. Also your image may be cropped because you may have the dpi/resolution to high?

That may be the problem. Do you know what I need to change the resolution to?

I just don't see how such an advanced phone cannot put a simple photo in the wallpaper.

It's because the image is a vertical rectangle. It's the wrong proportion. You need a landscape image. It may work with another home launcher if u turn wallpaper scrolling off. I don't think this image would work on iPhone either without cropping. If you download the zedge or flikie hd app they may have a similar image that is landscape.

That was the selling point in getting the droid. Supposedly more customizable that an iphone. Starting to think that's not true.

One of the main selling points of the droid is that it is supposedly more customizable than the iphone. I think that is a crock of ****

well if thats what is important to you thats fine. its just a very small thing to be upset about. its not like you can't choose a background at all. its just cropped. but it is an option that has been available since the beginning of android. now the iphone just got this ability after the 4th installment of their OS. so i wouldn't start throwing stones my friend.

The iPhone and macs in general are not very customizable at all. I have an imac and my bro has the iPhone. As of now the iPhone doesn't have a theme changer, widgets, the ability to change home interfaces, drop down notifications, and more. The iPhone isn't bad at all by any means but is very vanilla and Apple doesn't like you to stray from the look that they provide you. It's just icons on a screen, and that's about it. Apple is trying to play catch up in terms of interface, design and notification system, and will include some of these things in the next iPhone.
