New to Android to I apologize in advance if this is routine...

On other devices, I have seen the wallpaper used scroll in the background when swiping left or right. Is that possible on the Amaze? Every time I attempt to load an image it asks me to resize it. Heck, I am not even 100% sure of the screen resolution on the device. When I go to sites like InterfaceLIFT: Wallpaper sorted by Date for some wallpaper, it tells me the device has a resolution of 930 x 1434.

Thanks in advance.

George

While making some custom wallpapers, I found that the acceptable size (without cropping or resizing) as 418x743. (Allow for something like 20px top and bottom margins for the notification bar and Sense application drawer.)

The spec (total) resolution of the Amaze's display is 540x960 (qHD).

HTC only provided one Live Wallpaper (that I've tried and know about, that is) that rotates with the home screens, Streak. Others that spin probably have to be compatible with Sense...

Great... thank you for the information.

I owe you an apology, I gave you bum information. Turns out Sense and the third party app I use for images, QuickPic (I highly recommend it), were resizing my images to fit the screen resolution. :-[

My Amaze's true screen resolution is 544x960 540x960.[1] The top Status/Notification bar extends down to 38px from the top, and the bottom Sense drawer comes up to 865px 908px from the top. Making an image 544x960 540x960 and ensuring any elements I want to "see" are within those boundaries, my wallpaper isn't cropped or cut off.

Here's an image I created to check your own screen. I have a larger version for Rezound users.

Download this and make it your home screen wallpaper. Anything between the topmost and next lower red lines will be visible. The lowest red line indicates the semi-visible area that the "drawer" exposes on the left and right margins.

[1] Screenshots are 544x960, but the screen ends at 540.
[2] Corrected image. The Sense "app drawer" has a semi-opaque "slider" element that goes down to 908px; I have to update my image [done]. Note that on the lock screen, the entire drawer is semi-opaque.

Very Cool. Thanks for the image... that's a great idea and a great way to measure the size.

I've updated the image. I'm afraid I'm doing this in stolen moments early or late in the day so I keep slapping my hand to my forehead at finding a goof later. This morning's face-palm experience was discovering that the Amaze takes a screenshot with a 4px black margin at the right, hence my incorrect measurements of 544w. I've adjusted my file above. I found that QuickPic was having to crop my 544x960 images anyway.

I also hadn't noticed (because I was using predominately black wallpapers) the app drawer on the lock screen is semi-opaque, so if that area is left blank, it can look odd. using Photoshop I can clone or extend colors down a bit, but it depends upon the original image.
