Wallpaper Sizing?

So the resolution for the Captivate wallpaper is supposed to be 480x800 yet when I go to set a picture as a wallpaper, it makes me choose a smaller portion of that size and it doesn't seem to even be proportional - seems more square than rectangle.

If I have a 480x800 image, shouldn't I be able to use the whole thing?

Well with multiple screens wallpaper should probably by 960x800. But when selecting a picture as wallpaper it will give you a crop box. Touch the sides/edges of the crop box till the bounding box has handles on it. Adjust the size and location of the bounding box till it suits your needs. That ought to do it.

But you can only pull the edges of the crop box out to the sides of the image....leaving a large portion of the top and bottom out of the wallpaper.

I tried to zoom way out first, but it wouldn't let me.

When I use a picture 960x800 it allows me to select all of it.

Yep - it does do that.

I think I understand the issue now. I guess I didn't even realize at first that you needed one quite a bit wider than the screen to make it work.
