Whats the issue that your having? You should be able to switch wallpapers to any pics on your SD card without the use of an app.

I agree with Smitty... you can load any picture or wallpaper on your SD card... what is your issue with doing this???

The main thing different with wallpaper on this phone is that in order to avoid too much cropping you need to use a horizontal format. 800x600 is good. This allows for spanning all 7 home screens.

Also, you can resize the crop by pressing and dragging the corner of the crop box.

I use a free app called "Wallpaper Changer" to automatically switch between some 40 odd favorite wallpapers that I keep in directory. I like the diversity without the hassle.

I had an issue w/ changing wallpapers last week.
No matter what I did the wallpapers would look
very pixelated. So i installed wallpaper set & save
and all is good now :)

@frank - is 800x600 better than 960x800?
could that be why my images were looking pixelated?

I create a lot of wallpaper... 960x800 is a great wallpaper size for any Android, and is not any better or worse than 800x600. Pixelation is an image is not an issue of your device, but more than likely an issue with the original image you put on your device... it's the DPI (Dots Per Inch) of the image. They are probably poor quality... poor being anything below 72dpi... I usually like at least 72dpi, but more in the neighborhood of 300 to 600dpi... but that is my personal preference.

Either one works well. The 960x800 is simply higher resolution, but about the same aspect ratio. It's all about aspect ratio. For example: 800x600 has an aspect ratio of 1:[800/600]. 800/600 is 1.33. So, 800x600 works out to an aspect ratio of 1:1.33. 960/800 works out to 1:1.2 (close enough - essentially the same but with higher resolution). 480x360 works out to an aspect ratio of 1:1.33 (same as 800x600 but with lower resolution).

Bottom line, if you get the aspect ratio right, and use horizontal, anything will work. Just choose the size for the resolution you prefer.

If you use the wrong aspect ratio, or use a vertical pic, you will pay a huge penalty when cropping, which may result in heavy pixelation. You'll only get a small portion of the image rather than the whole thing.
