Want the real MR2 update now?

Haven't received an update notice, even when I check it. I just downloaded the leaked version. I know it's going to wipe out installed applications, but I want to know what do you folks recommend to back up the apps? Some of them were not from the Market: Many are from the Amazon Appstore and one from Getjar.

This file is 420 MB, does that sound right?

Yep, this is an RUU (the complete ROM, not just the OTA) so this is expected. You will loose your data, but your phone will run like the OS was installed by HTC at the factory, not just an OTA patch.

I'm running the leaked update so I am doing it this way in case the OTA does not update that build correctly.

You will be able to retrieve the Amazon AppStore applications once the update installs. Just install the AppStore and once opened, click the menu button and select "My Apps".

Does the baseband versions's varying from the official baseband version's on the Verizon announcement make a difference?

There's a typo in verizon's announcement, everyone who got the MR2 whether via OTA or this download have the same version and its different than the version on the memo.

Thread detour... :)

The rooted yet full of bloat was posted on XDA. I was running MR 2.5 and Flyweight.

This is the same as the OTA, just rooted.

Installed that 1.70 image via CWR and did not need to wipe. Just cache clear.

So far, phone is happy. So you should have nothing to fear - just make sure stuff is backed up.

Back on topic. :)
