I was listening to the Kim Komando show last weekend and she mentioned the Lenny Chabot. She wrote a bit about it in her blog and how to deploy him, but it's basically a telephone Chabot designed to keep the scammers busy. It's near the bottom of the blog as a bonus entry.

I get calls from the area code I use to live in when I got my original cell number. Since I no longer have any contacts there, I ignore all of them and block if they don't leave a message.

A week or two ago, I got a call from my own number. I tried picking up just to mess with them, but it kept disconnecting.

I think it was more of a scammer spoofing my own number.

I think that's why the call kept disconnecting. I answered 3 attempts.

Any phone number can be spoofed, has nothing to do with the provider. Also has nothing to do with getting disconnected.
