Tell me of a good, free, FLAC music player for android, please.

Note VLC is only in Beta and is not available in my country, anyway.

Re: WANTED: Free FLAC Player. Not VLC

Have you tried DoubleTwist?
I just tried it. It wont play .flac files.

N7 is a good player and I believe flac is offered in the free version.
I tried N7 before. It wouldn't play my .flac files; and it kept insisting I synch the music files on my PC to it. Super annoying.

I sent an email to the developer to see if he can sort this out.

For a few dollars Poweramp is probably one of the better players.
Why should I pay for something that is supposed to be available for free? And besides that, the way things are going so far, I have to wonder if anything that is expected to play .flac music files actually does.

VLC works on my SGN1/Android 4.1.2
If you want to try it you can download my VLC .apk file from here and install it on your device.
It could be that VLC works. But when I try to install it, it says it is not available in my country (which is the USA.)

The link you provided labeled "here" takes me to a 404- Not Found page.

Be careful when downloading .apks. If it is not from the play store (or another reputable source), it cannot be guaranteed safe. This is weird, but try BS Player from the play store. According to the description, it will play FLAC format.

Sent from my AT&T One X running CodefireX ROM Android Version 4.4.

OK. I'd rather not take any chances with apks files, whatever they are; as my android device is obscure and mysterious and difficult enough to operate already. I can't afford to make it any worse.

Hallelujah! BS Player worked. Thanks.
