Warm case

Within the last week, or so, my 4a has had a warm case, noticably warmer than before.
What's causing this? A greater load from an App? And won't this cost me by shortening the battery life?
Is there a way to display the running Apps and rank them by their battery load?

There is a way using the GSam battery monitor app and using adb to enable more stats. This will then list all the apps that are draining your battery and by how much.

Other than that there is a way in the pixel battery settings to see what apps are using battery percentage as well. I would look at the settings first and if you don’t get enough information to check out GSam battery app.

How's your cell signal been? Poor signal can cause the phone to heat up as it works harder to latch onto signal.

I looked at at the Battery Usage in settings and nothing pops out at me. No really big draws.
As to cell signal strength - usually adequate to poor (Thanks Verizon) and Wifi signal same-oh.
Funny, I'm sitting here @ 1900 hrs and case is Neutral temperature. Maybe I'm seeing warm temps in the AM, that seems to be when V decides we don't need all that coverage.

As a test, you could try turning on Airplane Mode while at home, then turn wi-fi on and rely on wi-fi calling. If it never gets warm, that would be more suspicious for poor cell signal. Even if you're using wi-fi, poor cell signal can still make the phone work harder.
