Warranty service- Returning a rooted phone??

I've been using my rooted DInc for almost a year. The battery (a Seido 1750mah) died one night, and subsequently would not charge. I took it to a local retailer who immediately called Verizon without me even mentioning anything about my warranty or getting a replacement.

Just got the replacement in the mail, stuck my old OEM battery in my old phone and realized that the battery was at fault.

My question is this: Is there any way for the Verizon techs to find out that I had rooted it? Also, even with the return to stock flashes, is there any incriminating data that would cause them to charge me 600 for a new phone?

All in all, I'm pretty happy that I was able to get a new phone out of the whole thing... And btw, the Seido 1750 is working fine in my new phone. Weird.

Thanks for the input
