Watch Active with Pixel3

Hi. New to Android OS. Just got my watch Active. A few things I can't seem to figure out. How can I pay with the watch. Samsung Pay not supported and don't know how to get Google pay installed on the watch.
Also how do I get texts on the watch?

that is only utilized if you have a Samsung phone I believe.
